Prime Minister Modi and Government of India have initiated numerous steps to speed-up the development in the country, and one of them is last month’s decision of demonetization to combat the corruption and Black Money.

Demonetization is going to be the milestone in Indian political history, hence there is chaos in oppositions who are opposing the demonetization and they have also blocked the parliamentary proceedings in this session so far, but that is what opposition do and that’s why we are the best democracy in the world.

I support demonetization and by judging the reports on different news channels, most of the citizens have agreed with government’s decision and they are supporting demonetization even when they are facing many difficulties in their daily life because of the unavailability of cash.

Incentive, Cashback, Lucky Draw etc. are the familiar methods to promote and encourage people to adopt the changes, but we have seen such offers only from the private companies; what if the government will give you the incentive that also as much as ₹ 1 crore to go cashless?

The government of India has launched the schemes for both consumers and merchants in order to incentivise digital payments and its called ‘Lucky Grahak Yojana’ and ‘Digi Dhan Vyapar Yojana’. According to the CEO of NITI Aayog, both of the schemes will cover small transactions between Rs 50 and Rs 3,000 to encourage every section of the consumers and merchants to move to digital payments.

We have seen Mr Modi and many BJP’s MPs were physically visiting their constituency and demonstrating the digital payment method among people, which shows that the government is very serious about what they are doing and ‘Lucky Grahak Yojana’ or ‘Digi Dhan Vyapar Yojana’ is just another step towards making India cashless.

What is the eligibility of Lucky Grahak Yojana and Digi Dhan Vyapar Yojana?
  • Everyone who will do the transaction using digital payments like RuPay Cards, UPI, USSD, Aadhar Enabled Payment System (AEPS)
  • The transactions through private credit cards and e-wallets of private companies will NOT be eligible for these schemes.
  • Merchants should have the POS(Point Of Scale) machine for cashless transactions.

What Is “Lucky Grahak Yojana”?

  • Under this scheme NPCI will announce 15,000 winners of Rs 1,000 each for next 100 days, starting December 25th.
  • The weekly prizes are worth Rs 1 lakh, Rs 10,000 and Rs. 5000 for using modes of digital Payments.
  • The lucky draw will start from 25th December and it will end on 14th April 2017 with a mega prize.

What Is The “Digi Dhan Vyapar Yojana”?

  • “Digi Dhan Vyapar Yojana” is for merchants of India, who have POS for cacheless transactions.
  • There will be weekly prizes worth Rs. 50,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs. 2,500
  • The lucky draw will start from 25th December and it will end on 14th April 2017 with a mega prize.
Mega Prize on 14th April 2017
  • Mega prizes for consumers are worth ₹1 Cr. ₹50 Lakh and ₹25 Lakh for digital transactions made from 8th November 2016 till 13th April 2017.
  • The mega prizes for the merchants will be ₹50 lakh, ₹25 lakh and ₹5 lakh.

Amitabh Kant the CEO of NITI Aayog has mentioned that the government is going to spend ₹340 crore on ‘Lucky Grahak Yojana’ and ‘Digi Dhan Vyapar Yojana’ scheme to boost the cashless transactions in the country.

The government has taken the first steps towards stopping black money and making our economy cashless, Now we have to take the next step by supporting the government.
