Samsung Unveils Advanced Mobile Security with AI and Quantum-Resistant Tech

Gurugram, India – July 8, 2025 – Samsung Electronics has raised the bar for mobile security with a suite of groundbreaking updates set to debut with its upcoming Galaxy smartphones running One UI 8. These innovations, announced today, are designed to protect the increasingly personalised, AI-driven features of Galaxy devices while prioritising user privacy and control in an ever-evolving digital landscape.

Fortifying AI with Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection

At the heart of Samsung’s latest security push is the Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP), a new system designed to safeguard the deeply personal data that powers Galaxy AI features. KEEP creates isolated, encrypted storage environments for each app, ensuring sensitive information, like user routines and preferences, remains locked away and accessible only to the intended application.

This architecture supports the Galaxy Personal Data Engine (PDE), which fuels features like Now Brief and Smart Gallery search. By keeping data on-device and shielding it with Samsung’s tamper-resistant Knox Vault hardware, KEEP ensures that personalised AI experiences, such as tailored suggestions and insights, remain private. From Smart Suggestions to other AI-driven tools, KEEP scales across Galaxy’s ecosystem, embedding privacy as a core design principle rather than an afterthought.

“Samsung is redefining mobile security by making privacy seamless and invisible,” said a Samsung spokesperson. “With KEEP, we’re ensuring that the next generation of AI personalisation is both powerful and secure.”

Quantum-Ready Wi-Fi for Future-Proof Privacy:

In a world inching toward quantum computing, Samsung is future-proofing its network protection. Secure Wi-Fi on Galaxy devices is now equipped with post-quantum cryptography, designed to safeguard against “harvest now, decrypt later” attacks, where data is stolen today to be cracked by quantum machines tomorrow.

Originally launched with the Galaxy S25 series as part of the Post-Quantum Enhanced Data Protection (EDP) initiative, this cryptographic update ensures that even public network use, like at airports or cafés, stays secure.

Key features of Secure Wi-Fi include:

  • Auto Protect: Automatically secures public Wi-Fi networks.
  • Enhanced Privacy Protection (EPP): Adds multilayer packet encryption and relays traffic to anonymise device data.
  • Protection Activity: Let users track which apps and networks were secured, and how much data was encrypted.

A Multi-Layered Approach to Trust

Beyond these headline features, Samsung continues to bolster its core security framework. Knox Vault isolates sensitive credentials like passwords and biometrics in a fortified hardware environment, protecting them even if the device’s operating system is compromised. Auto Blocker provides default defences against unauthorised app installs and zero-click threats, while Advanced Intelligence Settings let users opt out of online data processing for AI, keeping personal information on-device. Enhanced Theft Protection adds safeguards like Identity Check and Security Delay to thwart unauthorised access in high-risk scenarios.

Leading the Charge in Mobile Security

Samsung’s latest updates underscore its commitment to staying ahead of the curve in mobile security. By integrating quantum-resistant encryption, enhancing cross-device threat detection, and embedding privacy into AI-driven features, the company is delivering a Galaxy experience that’s not just innovative but also future-ready.

As digital threats evolve, Samsung’s focus remains clear: build security that’s always on, intuitive, and designed to empower users. With these advancements, Galaxy smartphones are poised to offer unparalleled privacy and control, setting a new standard for what it means to be secure in the age of AI.

With the rising complexity of threats and growing reliance on personalised AI, Samsung is doubling down on security, not as an afterthought, but as a design principle.

These updates, Samsung is trying to make it clear that Galaxy devices are not just smart, they’re secure by default, adaptive to the evolving tech landscape, and ready for a future shaped by AI and quantum computing. It will be interesting to see how other companies and tech manufacturers are taking the Quantum-Ready from here.
