Vivo V9 Launched with Dual Rear Camera and 24 MP Front Camera

Vivo has officially launched this year’s first V series flagship phone Vivo V9 in India. Vivo V9 is the first ever Vivo device in India to have the dual rear camera and notch. With the 90% of screen-to-body ratio, Vivo V9 is also one of the highest screen-to-body ratio phones available in the market. I have used and experienced almost all Vivo device launched in the Indian market and I must say V9 is the best Vivo device in India yet.

After the launch of iPhone X, I had published a post and I had mentioned that “no matter you like the notch display design of iPhone X or not it’s going to be the common design in upcoming devices”, and I was very right because if you see the recently launched devices either from Asus, Oppo or Vivo the display design looks same as the iPhone X. Even, the early leaks of OnePlus 6 is suggesting to feature the similar front design.

Let’s talk about the Vivo V9, it’s not just the notch but the 6.3 inches 19:9 aspect ratio full HD+ (FHD+) display and the shiny finish of the device is also the reasons that will give you the feel of a premium phone. Vivo V9 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 CPU clocked at 2.2 GHz, it’s an octa-core processor based on Cortex A53. The phone comes with the 4 GB DDR3 RAM and 64 GB of internal storage which can be expended up to 265 GB using the dedicated micro SD card slot.

The camera has always been the prime focus for the Vivo but it used to be the selfie camera, with the Vivo V9 the company has worked more on the primary camera. The V9 has 16 MP f/2.0 + 5 MP f/2.4 PDAF camera with single LED flash and many other features like “Live photo bokeh mode, which is Portrait mode and “Shot Refocus”. Shot Refocus is the feature that lets you refocus the object in the photo even after clicking the photos.

The V9’s 24 megapixels f/2.0 selfie camera comes with AI (Artificial Intelligence) face beauty to deliver the clear and beautiful selfies. The front camera also comes with Gender detection, AR Stickers, Face beauty video call, Camera Filter, HDR and Portrait lighting effect providing enough options for users to experiment with selfies.

The Vivo V9 runs the company’s latest Funtouch OS 4.0 which is just a skin on the Android Oreo 8.1. The company has integrated AI in Funtouch 4.0 which will learn from your habits and preference of using the apps and features which will ultimately give you the faster and better performances.

The latest Funtouch 4.0 has some new cool features but my favourite is “Smart Low Volume”, the phone’s ringing volume will go down just by looking at it. You need not rush for the volume button to mute the ringer when you don’t want your phone to ring loudly, all you need is to look at the screen while getting calls and it will instantly recognize your face and the ringer volume will automatically go down.

Key Specification of Vivo V9:

  • Dual SIM dual standby, 4G-VoLTE Support
  • 2-Nano and 1 MicroSD card slot in a single tray
  • 6.3 inches Full HD+ display with a notch, 1080 x 2280 pixels, 400 PPI

Price and Availability of Vivo V9:

Like the previously released devices, the Vivo V9 was available for pre-booking right after the launch event on 23rd March 2018. The smartphone is available to pre-book at all major offline and also on all major online stores with a price tag of ₹22,990. Recently, Vivo has launched their official online store and a physical offline store at Brigade Road in Bangalore so you can also buy this phone from the official Vivo online or offline store.

Customers can avail the exciting offers like no-cost EMI, exchange offer, and other bank or cards specific offer if buying the Vivo V9 online. Vivo has also announced a “One Time Free Screen Replacement” offer for customers who are booking the Vivo V9 online from any of the online retail partner or from the official Vivo e-store, this offer will be valid only for the order placed between March 23 to April 2, 2018.
