OnePlus has started rolling out the much-awaited Stable Android Pie for its four-year-old mobile phones OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. OnePlus 3 series users have been shouting for this since a long while and it seems their wait is finally over now. OnePlus 3 has been launched by the company in June of 2016 followed by the OnePlus 3T in November same year.

The stable Android 9 Pie will be released with Oxygen OS 9.0.2 build which will also include the April 2019 security patches. The software update is the most crucial thing for any mobile phones. When it comes to the software update and upgrade, most of the mobile phone brands with a large range of products are abandoning their old mobile phones.

OnePlus has been testing the closed beta version of Android Pie which was also available for OnePlus 3 and 3T users. Now, the company has officially confirmed via a blog post about the Stable Android Pie update for OnePlus 3 series. Similar to any other OnePlus updates, OnePlus 3-3T stable Android 9 Pie update will be incremental, that means the OxygenOS 9.0.2 updates will reach to the OnePlus 3-3T users in random slots NOT based on regions.

The Android 9 update will hit the limited number of device today followed by the broader rollout in the next few days. OnePlus said in its blog post that using a VPN might not work because the rollout is not based on regions. If you haven’t received the OTA yet then wait for it or try checking for the update manually from settings > System Updates >> Check for update.
